ఆలతో articlesలో … a లేదా an …
హలో పిల్లలూ అ, ఆలతో Articles నేర్చుకుందామా? అయితే సరే చదవండి. English language లో articles కు చాలా ప్రాధాన్యత ఉంది. వీటిని
ఉపయోగించడంలో confuse
అవుతుంటారు. తెలుగు వర్ణమాల (అ,ఆలు) వస్తే indefinite articles అనగా a or an ఉపయోగించడం
సులువే.
Articlesనే Determiners అని
కూడా పిలుస్తారు. ఇవి Adjective లుగా
పనిచేస్తాయి. ఇవి రెండు రకాలుగా ఉంటాయి. 1. Indefinite Article (a లేదా an) మరియు 2.
Definite Article (the).

Indefinite Article (a లేదా an):
A లేదా an లను ఉపయోగించుటకు తెలుగు వర్ణమాల(అ,ఆలు) వస్తే
ఉపయోగించడం సులువు అవుతుంది. ఎందుకంటే Indefinite Articles అనేవి sound systemపై
ఆధారపడి ఉపయోగించబడతాయి.
తెలుగులో శబ్దానికి అక్షరానికి సంబంధం
ఉంటుంది. కానీ Englishలో అక్షరానికి శబ్దానికి సంబంధం ఉండకపోవచ్చు. ఉదాహరణకి
success లో
మొదటి మరియు చివరి ‘s’లు ‘స్’ అనే
ఒకే శబ్దాన్ని ఇస్తాయి. అలాగే అదే పదంలోరెండవ ‘c’ కూడా అదే శబ్దాన్ని ఇస్తుంది. కానీ మొదటి ‘c’ మాత్రం
‘క్’ అనే
శబ్దాన్ని చేస్తుంది. కాబట్టి తెలుగు వర్ణమాల శబ్దాలతో English articlesలో a లేదా an లను
ఎలా ఉపయోగించాలో చూద్దాం.
తెలుగులో అ, ఆ, ఇ, ఈ, ఉ, ఊ, ఎ, ఏ, ఐ, ఒ, ఓ, ఔ
లు చేసే శబ్దాలను Vowel Sounds అంటాము. మిగతా అక్షరాలు క నుండి ఱ వరకు
చేసే శబ్దాలు Consonant
Sounds గా
గుర్తించాలి. గుర్తుంచుకోండి వీటిని శబ్దాలుగా మాత్రమే గుర్తుంచుకోవాలి కానీ
అక్షరాలుగా కాదు.
A లేదా an లను singular common countable noun
ముందు ఉపయోగించాలి. ఎందుకంటే A లేదా an లు ‘ఒక’ అనే అర్ధాన్ని ఇస్తాయి. కావున plural noun ముందు అలాగే proper noun ముందు
a లేదా an లను
ఉపయోగించకూడదు.
Ruchitha is a doctor. (correct)
They are a doctors. (wrong)
Ramanna is a student. (correct).
A Ramanna is a student. (wrong)
Vowel Sound తో (అ
నుండి ఔ శబ్దాలతో) మొదలయ్యే singular common countable noun ముందు ‘an’ ఉపయోగించాలి. Consonant Sound తో (అ
నుండి ఔ కాకుండా మిగతా శబ్దాలతో) మొదలయ్యే singular common countable noun ముందు ‘a’ ఉపయోగించాలి.
