PROJECT WORK

INFLUENCE OF TECHNICAL GADGETS ON HUMAN RELATIONS

Name: __________________________
Class: X
Roll No.: ______________________
School: ________________________
Subject: English

Introduction

Modern technical gadgets have become an important part of our daily lives. Television, mobile phones, computers and the Internet help us in many ways. At the same time, spending too much time on gadgets may reduce the time we spend with our family members and friends.

As part of this project, I visited five houses in my neighbourhood and collected information about how technical gadgets have changed human relations.

Survey Data

Sl. No.HouseGadgetHuman Relations Before AccessibilityHuman Relations After Accessibility
1House 1TelevisionFamily members talked and spent more time together in the evening.Family members sometimes watch different programmes and spend less time talking.
2House 2Mobile PhonesFriends and relatives met often and talked face-to-face.People use phones to call and message, but they sometimes avoid direct conversations.
3House 3Computer / InternetChildren used to play outdoors and family members shared their experiences directly.Children spend more time online for games, videos and studies.
4House 4TelevisionFamily members ate meals and discussed their daily activities together. Some family members watch TV while eating and talk less with one another.
5House 5Mobile PhonesNeighbours and friends met frequently and helped one another.People can stay connected through calls and messages, but face-to-face meetings have reduced.

Consolidated Information

GadgetEffect on Human Relations
TelevisionIt gives entertainment and information, but too much watching can reduce family conversation.
Mobile PhonesThey help us communicate quickly, but excessive use may reduce face-to-face communication.
Computer / InternetThey help us learn and communicate with people around the world, but too much screen time can reduce outdoor activities and family time.

Analysis

From my survey, I found that technical gadgets have both positive and negative effects on human relations.

Before the easy availability of gadgets, family members spent more time talking, sharing their feelings, eating together and helping one another. Children also spent more time playing with friends and visiting relatives.

After the use of modern gadgets increased, communication became faster and easier. We can talk to relatives who live far away through mobile phones and the Internet. Students can also use the Internet for learning.

However, excessive use of gadgets can make people less interested in face-to-face conversations. Children may spend more time playing online games or watching videos instead of playing with friends. Family members may also sit together but remain busy with their own mobile phones.

My Opinion

In my opinion, technology is useful when we use it properly. We should not blame gadgets for every problem. The problem is the excessive and careless use of gadgets.

We should set a proper time for using mobile phones, television and computers. We should spend quality time with our parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and friends. We should talk to them, share our feelings, help them and take part in family activities.

I believe that gadgets should bring people closer, not take people away from one another.

Suggestions

  1. We should limit unnecessary screen time.
  2. We should spend some time with our family every day.
  3. We should have meals together without using mobile phones.
  4. Children should play outdoor games with their friends.
  5. We should use the Internet mainly for useful purposes.
  6. We should visit relatives and friends instead of only messaging them.
  7. We should keep our mobile phones away while talking to family members.

Conclusion

This project helped me understand the effect of technical gadgets on human relations. Gadgets have made our lives easier and communication faster, but we should use them wisely. Human relationships are more valuable than gadgets.
