Action plan for class X English New syllubus and new examination pattern

PLAN OF ACTION SSC EXAMINATIONS 2015

New born stateలో, New Syllabusతో, Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) ద్వారా English Subjectలో విద్యార్థులు నిరంతరం Formative Assessment and Summative Assessment అని బట్టి విధానానికి దూరంగా 100 మార్కులకు గాను రెండు రకాలుగా assess చేయబడుతారు.

ప్రస్తుత విద్యా సంవత్సరం నుండి All Media studentsకి second language గా English ఒకే syllabus మరియు ఒకే రకమైన examination pattern.

1.       Formative Assessment (FA): There are four (4) Formative Assessments, altogether carries 20 marks for the final result. It will be done at school level through A) Reflections, B) Written works, C) Project works and D) Slip tests. వీటిలో ఉపాధ్యాయుల సూచనలు పాటిస్తూ చక్కని ప్రదర్శన ఇవ్వగలిగితే 20 మార్కులు సాధించవచ్చును. ఇది మంచి Grade Point సాధించడానికి ఉపకరిస్తుంది.

2.       Summative Assessment (SA): There are three (3) Summative Assessments. First and Second SAs have no weightage in final result. వీటిని పాఠశాలలోనే నిర్వహిస్తారు. Weightage లేదని నిర్లక్ష్యం చేయక వీటిని SA3కి modelగా భావించి మీ సామర్థ్యాన్ని పరీక్షించుకోవాలి SA3లో ఎక్కువ మార్కులు పొందడానికి సామర్థ్యాలు పెంచుకోవాలి.

Summative Assessment 3 (Board Examinations): ఇక్కడ విద్యార్థులు SA1 and SA2 మాదిరే రెండు పేపర్ల ద్వారా పరీక్షింపబడతారు. ఒక్కో పేపర్ 40 మార్కులకు నిర్వహించబడుతుంది. ఒక్కో పేపర్లో 24 questions కు సమాధానాలు ఇవ్వాల్సి ఉంటుంది. రెండు ప్రశ్న పత్రాలలో ప్రశ్నల సరళి ఒకేరకంగా ఉంటుంది. కానీ Paper-I (13E) లో మాత్రమే question no.1 to 22 Text Book నుండి అడుగుతారు. Paper-II (14E) లో మాత్రం పూర్తిగా unseen passages నుండి questions వస్తాయి. ఒక్కో పరీక్షకు 2గంటల 45 నిమిషాల సమయం ఇస్తారు. Paper-Iని అర్థం చేసుకుంటే Paper-II అర్థం చేసుకోవడం సులభం.

Paper-I: ఇది 3 sectionsగా విభజించబడింది. They are …

1.       Section-A (Reading Comprehension) for 15 marks

2.       Section-B (Vocabulary and Grammar) for 10 marks and

3.       Section-C (Creative Writing) for 15 marks

Section-A (Reading Comprehension) లో రెండు విభాగాలు ఉంటాయి. మొదటిది Questions 1-7, రెండవది Questions 8-12.

Questions 1-7 కొరకు ఒక paragraph ఇవ్వడం జరుగుతుంది. ఇది పూర్తిగా Text Bookలోని Reading A,B and Cలలో ఒకదాని నుండి ఇస్తారు. దాని నుండి questions 1-4 multiple choice answersతో ఉంటాయి. Every correct answer carries 1 mark. Questions 5-7 are to be answered in two or three sentences and every perfect answer carries 2 marks. Total 10 marks allotted to this paragraph. ఇందులో ఇచ్చే ప్రశ్నలు Text Book లోనివి కాకుండా ఆలోచించి answer చేసేవిగా ఉంటాయి.

Questions 8-12 కొరకు మరొక paragraph ఇవ్వడం జరుగుతుంది. ఇది పూర్తిగా Text Bookలోని Reading A,B and Cలలో ఒకదాని నుండి ఇస్తారు. దాని నుండి questions 8-10 multiple choice answersతో ఉంటాయి. Every correct answer carries 1 mark. Questions 11 and 12 are to be answered in two or three sentences and every perfect answer carries 1 mark. Total 5 marks allotted to this paragraph. ఇందులో ఇచ్చే ప్రశ్నలు కూడా Text Book లోనివి కాకుండా ఆలోచించి answer చేసేవిగా ఉంటాయి.

Section-B (Vocabulary and Grammar) లో రెండు విభాగాలు ఉంటాయి. మొదటిది Questions 13-17, రెండవది Questions 18-22.

Questions 13-17 కొరకు ఒక passage లో 5 error sentences ఉంటాయి. వాటిని edit చేసి రాయాలి. Every correct edit carries 1 mark totally 5 marks.

Questions 18-22 కొరకు మరొక passage ను blanksతో ఇస్తరు. దీనిని cloze test అంటాము. ఇందులో filling the blanks or replacing words or phrases selecting from the given options ఉంటాయి. Each perfect answer carries 1 marks totally 5marks.

Section-C (Creative Writing) లో రెండు ప్రశ్నలుంటాయి. అవి 22 మరియు 23.

Question 22 లో internal choice ఉంటుంది. ఈ question కి context ఇవ్వడం జరుగుతుంది. దీనికి 120 నుండి 150 పదాల్లో సమాధానం రాయాలి. The perfect response carries 10 marks. ఇందులో Major Discourses కు సంబందించిన questions వస్తాయి.

Question 23 కి కూడా context ఇవ్వడం జరుగుతుంది. దీనికి 50 నుండి 80 పదాల్లో response రాయాలి. The perfect response carries 5 marks. ఇందులో Minor Discourses  కు సంబంధించిన questions వస్తాయి.

Paper-II: ఇది కూడా 3 sectionsగా విభజించబడింది. They are …

1.       Section-A (Reading Comprehension) for 15 marks: Paper-I మాదిరే కానీ unseen passages ఇస్తారు.

2.       Section-B (Vocabulary and Grammar) for 10 marks: Paper-I మాదిరే కానీ unseen passages ఇస్తారు. Questions 18-22 Paper-I మాదిరే కానీ questions 13-17 లో Editing కాకుండా అడిగిన విధంగా answers చేయాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఇక్కడ 5 multiple choice answer questions ఇస్తారు.

3.       Section-C (Creative Writing) for 15 marks: Paper-I మాదిరే కానీ Discourses వేరు.

How do we answer the questions better?

Before the examinations at school and home:

a.       Have to participate actively in the learning activities in and outside the class-room. తరగతి కార్యక్రమాల్లో విరివిగా పాల్గొనాలి

b.      Must be active in using dictionary. డిక్షనరీ ఉపయోగించాలి

c.       Have to become an avid reader of the different genre in the library as newspapers, magazines, articles, storybooks, journals etc. along with the Text Book. Libraryని బాగా వినియోగించుకోవాలి.

d.      While reading the Reading A/B/C in each unit in text book must concentrate on the theme first, next beyond the lines then go into deeper structure of the sentences as well. పాఠ్యాంశాలు ఎక్కువ సార్లు చదవడం మంచిది.

e.      It is the best idea to consult your teacher or any facilitator whenever you got some doubts.

f.        Practice as many model passages as you can prior to SA3. ఎక్కువగా practice చేయడం ఉత్తమం.

g.       Participate actively in group work and try to take a chance to demonstrate the work

h.      Group discussions on the different topics or the subjects or the content in the book is more useful.

i.         Having rigorous practice of Discourses leads good score

j.        The exercise part in each unit must be done and practice them using your own language

During the examinations in the hall:

a.       First of all go through the entire question paper once to get some idea on it. Questions paper చదవడానికి ఎక్కువ సమయం కేటాయించాలి.

b.      Read the paragraphs as many times as you can in the examination hall until you get the perfect responses since you got more time for reading. ఎక్కువ సార్లు Paragraphs చదవాలి.

c.       Organize your answer sheet in a proper way.

d.      Write legibly and lucid.

e.      Draw borders to the responses of question 24.

f.        Try to write error free sentences

ఎవరు Pass అయినట్లు: 1.       FA లకు 20కు గాను కనీస pass marks లేవు. 2.       SA3 లో తప్పనిసరిగా 80కి కనీసం 28 మార్కులు తెచ్చుకోవాలి. 3.       FA మరియు SA3 తో కలిపి మొత్తంగా కనీసం 35 marks రావాలి. 4.       FAలో మార్కులు రాకున్నాకేవలం SA3 లో 35 ఆ పైన మార్కులు తెచ్చుకున్నా pass అయినట్లే. 5.       FAలో 20 మార్కులు వచ్చి SA3 లో 27 తో మొత్తం 47 మార్కులు వచ్చినా Fail అయినట్లే (ఎందుకంటే SA3లో కనీసం 28 రాలేదు కాబట్టి.
